Pause

During times of grief and crisis, there is a natural tendency to examine how we’ve been living our lives and what we want to change.  The pause that we are experiencing in our lives right now is a great time to be used for reflection on where our lives are at and where we’d like them to be.  Here are 3 questions you could ask yourself to gain clarity:

  1. Reveal – What has this pause allowed you to discover about how you’ve been living your life?  Remember to include the good stuff and try not to judge yourself for anything.  You’re simply looking at the big picture.
  2. Purify – What do you want to let go of?  What thoughts and behaviors are no longer serving you?  This question could also be applied to your environment.   Is it time to let go of some things in a junk drawer or closet?
  3. Strengthen – What about yourself, family and community do you want to build up and make better?

Once you start writing, these questions won’t take long to answer and could affect how you show up for yourself and others now and months from now.  Remember, small tweaks in behavior may not make a huge difference today but will be more meaningful in the long run as they will create a new path forward.
